Fanja SC :
Fanja SC was founded in 1972 by Resolution No. 30/72. It is considered to be one of the deep-rooted clubs registered in the Sultanate. The chairman of the club was then Sheikh/ Said bin Salem Al-Mutawah, while Sheikh/ Khalfan bin Naser Al-Hidabi is considered as the first founder of the club and as the Godfather of sports in general, and football in particular in the Sultanate. The club’s board of directors witnessed many chairmen and members of faithful men who sacrificed everything for the club, namely: SheikhSuleiman bin Said Al-Hidabi, Sheikh Suleiman bi Naser Al-Hidabi, Mr. Sami bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Bosaedy, the engineer Seif bin Abdullah Al-Samri and the engineer Humair bin Naser Al-Ismaeli. Fanja SC was the first club to ever win the Omani League and the first to win the Gulf Cup. As well, it was the first Omani club to repeatedly win the Omani League for three consecutive seasons, the second Omani club to win Sultan Qaboos Cup for three consecutive years and the first Omani club to win the 4th place in Arab competitions in 1989. Moreover, Fanja SC was qualified for the finals of Sultan Qaboos Cup for (12) times and was the runner-up for three times.
