An Overview of the Federation Cup
The Federation Cup competition is considered to be an opportunity for elite clubs to participate in the games and to present themselves differently from His Majesty Cup Competition or Omantel, which serve as a platform to show and experiment new local and foreign players. The last two competitions would give clubs the opportunity of presenting new foreign players to test them before proceeding with registering them during the second registration period. The competition was given a new identity under the name of the Federation Cup and a slogan that was inspired by the Cup and the Federation slogan, in order to attract new partners and sponsors in the coming period, to promote the competition value and confirm its importance with the presence of elite clubs in Omantel.
Added to that, the Oman Professional League in the Oman Football Association is working on developing and upgrading the competitions to meet AFC standards, which would allow clubs to properly show themselves locally and internationally. The League is also working on creating a balance between realities and possibilities of the Association and clubs, and international requirements and standards.
